The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 is the non-profit international leader in educating, qualifying and certifying information security professionals worldwide.
Since its inception in 1989, (ISC)2 has trained, qualified and certified more than 27,000 information security professionals in 106 countries. (ISC)2 serves governments, corporations, centers of higher learning and organizations worldwide.

The Situation

(ISC)2 has staff all over the world: Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, London, and Hong Kong. The organization also has partners in California.
(ISC)2 needed a way to better manage, share and store a sizable number of documents that would be accessible worldwide.

The Solution

(ISC)2 chose WebEx WebOffice as its collaboration engine. “WebOffice allows us to collaborate with our employees worldwide,” says Wilfred Camilleri, Manager of Internet and Intranet Services for (ISC)2.

The Benefits

(ISC)2 has all the online collaboration tools it needs with WebEx WebOffice, without having the expense and labor cost that an intranet built in-house would have required.
“We don’t have an IT department, per se. So, if we had to develop our own companywide intranet that offered all of the functionality that WebOffice does, it would have been a significant personnel and financial resource drain. WebOffice offers our employees a streamlined, beneficial solution for a great price. We’re extremely happy with the service. In fact, 48 staff members are using WebOffice as we speak,” says Camilleri.
(ISC)2 directors, managers and administrative staff use the WebOffice Document Manager to manage, share and store a sizable number of documents within its global organization.
In addition to the companywide use of the Documents Manager, (ISC)2’s marketing and PR groups use the WebOffice Database Manager to hold the Communications Library. The entire company uses the database for a directory. And, several employees rely on the WebOffice Online Calendar every day.
“We also like the WebOffice SSL Data Encryption Option. As a body dedicated to the use of information security, we believe it’s essential to protect the security of all of our internal documents,” says Camilleri.
